No Taking Candy From This Baby …
Add an edge to your weekend race viewing by playing Fantasy Cup Series.
Talented tyro Bill Rexford and Glen ‘Fireball’ Roberts meet to settle the 1950 Grand National crown at Hillsboro, NC (mile long dirt) for the season finale. Rexford holds a thin series lead over both Roberts and Lee Petty, yet drops a motor during the early laps. Roberts can seize the NGN with a fifth place finish, yet his now storied heavy foot also kills a motor just beyond crossed flags and the 23 year old Rexford, watching from the pits in non-running P26, captures series honors. Rexford still holds the distinction as NASCAR’s youngest national champion.
